Jean Shepherd is probably best-known for the movie A Christmas Story, based on his excellent short stories. But long before Peter Billingley almost put his eye out, kid, Shep was known for decades among discerning radio listeners as one of the best storytellers the medium has ever known.

So if the football game isn’t doing it for you or the in-laws are getting irritating or the food is just making you lazy, why not go here and listen to one of Shep’s supremely entertaining Thanksgiving tales? There are far worse ways to spend an hour or so.
