Today marks the 78th birthday of Frank Frazetta, the massively talented fantasy illustrator whose compelling images on paperback covers in the ’60s and ’70s could make books sell regardless of what was written on the pages inside. Released in 2003, Painting With Fire is a terrific documentary about Frazetta; it’s running this month on IFC if you’re into this sort of thing.
