The front page of today’s New York Times features this lengthy article on technology and brain function that is mainly fascinating and occasionally troubling. Among the many interesting tidbits of information:

“Heavy multitaskers actually have more trouble focusing and shutting out irrelevant information, scientists say, and they experience more stress.”

“In 2008, people consumed three times as much information each day as they did in 1960.”

“Computer users at work change windows or check email or other programs nearly 37 times an hour, new research shows.”

Make it 38 and click on over to the Times site and check out the article. It’s a worthwhile read.
