Over on letscounthedays, Shay Howe has an excellent blog post about email marketing. It’s not only a terrific gut-check to make sure your email efforts are hitting all the right notes, but also provides good food for thought with its “inspirational email gallery” of sample designs.
Jono Bacon’s The Art of Community is number one in the Culture category on Amazon as I write this. You can download a free copy of it on the Art of Community Online blog.
When you search for “nook” (the name of Barnes & Noble’s new eBook reader) over on Amazon, the first result is for Amazon’s Kindle. When you search for “Kindle” over on BN.com, you wind up at the nook product page.
Fair enough. Now let’s try Bing, where the first thing you see when you search for “nook” is an article about a lawsuit asking, “Will the Nook be nixed?” Search for “Kindle,” though, and the first thing you see is a quote saying, “This is the future of book reading. It will be everywhere.”
I’m scoring this round Amazon: 1, BN: 0
