Publicity vs. PR

I actually prefer to make the distinction between “media relations and public relations,” but Seth Godin is definitely on to something when he talks about the difference between PR and publicity.

    I think the most important point he makes is that the company and its media relations partner need to be partners — open and honest and able to use the value of the product or service to craft the right story to tell. It’s a partnership that can’t work well unless it’s viewed that way.
