Two Interviewers, One Wrestler

I look like a reject from Classmates.com

Back in the day, I had a brief run as an interviewer of professional wrestlers on, among other places, Superstation TBS. As conclusive proof that the culture has run out of things to upload to YouTube, I offer this link.

It doesn't get much better than this

It’s not really Christmas until Darlene Love sings “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” on the Late Show with David Letterman. The writer’s strike means we don’t get a new performance this year, but the Letterman repeat tonight features Darlene’s performance from last year, and as always it’s worth watching.

While you’re waiting, revisit the tradition on YouTube in these Letterman clips from 1995, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006

Merry Christmas!

Tracking Santa … In 3D

Run, run Rudolph!

Dance, you Scrooge, dance!

Every year since Elf Bowling debuted back in the day, there seems to be one Web thingamjigger that gets passed around more than anything else. This year, at least as far as my inbox is concerned, it’s Scrooge Yourself, presented by OfficeMax. Of course I Scrooged myself; here’s my LOHAD humbug to you.

Would you really want to catch the bouquet at THIS wedding?

Last year, Charmin got a ton of press for opening luxury bathrooms in Times Square during the holiday season. This year, they set up the bathrooms again, but faced a real PR problem: How do you get the same (or similar) level of ink, pixels and video?

The answer: Find someone to get married in one of the bathrooms wearing a wedding dress made of Charmin. I don’t know whether or not it gets anyone to change their mind and reach for Charmin while they’re walking the paper good aisle, but there probably isn’t an editor worth his or her human interest salt that’s gonna pass up that story.

Then again, maybe the human interest isn’t all that interesting: As of this writing, the YouTube video clip only has 2,218 views, about one percent of the traffic of this video of someone making a duct tape purse.
