Yet another virtual world is on the way

Sony is creating a virtual world for PlayStation 3 gamers. Called “Home,” it’s similar to Second Life: You can create and customize your avatar, chat via voice and do a whole bunch of other virtual world stuff.

There’s probably a lot more that will be available in Home than you can figure out by watching this clip but one thing’s for sure: The graphics are terrific.

Too slick and corporate, or a quantum leap in the world of virtual worlds? This one will be interesting to watch.

Meanwhile, USA Today asks, “Is this the age of the online avatar?” Ya think?

    that’s nuttin’ just wait till the threshold to entry into virtual spaces dissappears. think google maps, apple Ilife etc.:) Cheers E
