November 9th, 2006Booth babes. A guy on stilts. People walking around with video screens built into their T-shirts. People walking around with Ghostbuster-style devices on their backs with video screens over their heads. People walking around with their heads bandaged. A guy dressed up like an astronaut. Free beer. A game show. And my favorite: a dwarf dressed like Gene Simmons.
The distractions were interesting, and collectively led to the bizarre Mardi Gras flavor of ad:tech. But does anyone remember the companies represented by those distractions? Anyone? Bueller?
When marketers market to marketers, shouldn’t there be a little less noise and a little more innovation? Somewhere? Anyone? Bueller?
