It's good to be the king

Google: Strong and getting stronger. That’s the takeaway from this PC Advisor article that does a pretty good job of putting these Hitwise numbers for May in perspective: Google commanded just under 60% of all search queries (an increase of about a point over March numbers) vs. 22% for Yahoo and 12% for MSN.

Thought About Your Site’s Search Lately?

It's gotta be here somewhere...

DMNews alerts us to a WebSideStory analysis finding that “the top 4 percent of all unique search-term queries on a Web site make up about 50 percent of all searches on that site.”

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

Didn't we go through this sort of thing already back on Y2K?

Today is June 6, 2006 — the day of the beast, some say. If you want to see what all the 666 fuss is about, this Wikipedia entry along with this one is a pretty good start.

Some woman somewhere will give birth to a son today and name him Damien, which is pretty creepy. He’ll probably grow up to be a politician, musician or marketing executive.

Meanwhile, the day is a hell of a marketing opportunity for one small town in Michigan. And this is interesting: 666 has a page on MySpace (smart thinking, Omen marketers).

JUNE 7 UPDATE: Meet Damien.
